I think what they're trying to get out of this is sprouting from the old phrase " He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword" which is pretty stereotypical and something that i don't agree with totally.

I absolutely hate, hate, HATE this movie. They really and I mean really screwed up the ending. I agree with SolenmSerpent, my inner child shiver and died.

the ending was so sad i wonder why the ending in the mangas different than the one in the ova? hmmmmm oh wells the mangas a happy ending! ^^

That's not the end, it's just a director's cut. You have to see the movie to see the real end. ='(
